SOUL COLE x MISTER BANDANA
This "Mud Cloth" bandana is built to celebrate love, peace, and unity. Brandon is inspired by the heritage of traditional African art forms, including the mud cloth or bogolanfini textiles of Mali, and we've recruited artists and graphic designers from around the world, from the Bronx to Georgia to Nigeria to Indonesia, to honor this heritage in a new line of bandanas.
Artist highlight:
Odelana Oluwafunke, of Lagos, Nigeria, is the designer of "SPRNG" Her artist's statement:
The mud cloth symbols I used represent wealth, luxury, bravery and fearlessness. All the symbols used with their meanings sums to to mean a trans-generational wealth of a brave and fearless person. The puzzle feel that the symbols give shows how the secret of such a person's wealth is not discovered by mere sight. In other words, it remains a mystery to many.
